Auto = 0-
Detected from the data. The first buffer whose format is unambiguous settles it until the pipeline stops. A single NAL unit behind a 3-byte start code can read as AVC as well, and AVC with bytes past its last NAL unit as byte-stream; set the format explicitly when the source is known.
AVC = 1-
AVC: every NAL unit behind a 4-byte big-endian length. Converted to byte-stream in place.
ByteStream = 2-
Annex B byte-stream: every NAL unit behind a 3- or 4-byte start code. Pushed as is.
